Buy Some Damn Art!

FAQs

How do shows cycle in and out?

BSDA launches a new show every week. Each show runs for six weeks. At the end of six weeks the artwork in the show is no longer available for purchase and the show is taken off the Home Page and is added to the BSDA Archive.

How do I know if a piece of art on the site is available?

On the Home Page sold artwork is demarcated with a pink "SOLD" sign. On a product page if the artwork is unavailable it will say "SOLD"  whereas if the artwork is available there will be a "BUY" button. To purchase the artwork, click on the "BUY" button and go through the check-out process. Your shopping cart can be accessed from the "Cart" link in the top navigation underneath the BSDA logo.

How can I pay on Buy Some Damn Art?

Buy Some Damn Art accepts PayPal and major credit cards.

When will I be charged for my purchase?

Your credit card or PayPal account will be charged at the time the order is placed.

Is there sales tax?

Yes, sales tax for New York State buyers is added during check-out.

What is your shipping policy?

Shipping within the U.S. is a flat $20 fee per piece unless otherwise noted in the product description. All packages are insured. You will receive an email when the artwork is shipped with a tracking number. For any questions about shipping please contact Kate at hello@buysomedamnart.com.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we do. The cost of shipping is incurred by the buyer as well as any taxes or duties that may be applicable.

How much does internationally shipping cost?

Rates vary depending on the size and material of the art and the destination, but in our experience international shipping is often $30- $60. Get in touch for an estimate on a specific work of art at hello@buysomedamnart.com.

Can I purchase artwork in the Archive?

No, artwork in the Archive is there for posterity and is not available for purchase. But if there is a specific piece in the Archive you're interested in, please email hello@buysomedamnart.com. If the artwork has not sold and the artist is willing, BSDA can sometimes arrange a sale.

Is the artwork framed?

No, artwork on Buy Some Damn Art is not framed. Any exceptions will be stated in the product's description.

Do you have framing suggestions?

Yes! If you'd like framing suggestions for a specific artwork, please feel free to reach out via hello@buysomedamnart.com.

For framing sources, I recommend online custom frame shop American Frame, especially their light wood and white frames. AF cuts frames and mat boards to the exact size you need and ships fast. I always go with their UV non-glare plexiglass. IKEA also sells basic frames at very low prices but only in certain sizes. Having artwork framed at your local framer is always an excellent albeit costly option. No one knows how to handle art better than a framer, but the cost of framing a small work starts around $150 and goes up from there.

How does BSDA work for artists?

Like most brick and mortar galleries, Buy Some Damn Art splits sales 50/50 with artists. BSDA does not work with artists exclusively which means that artists on BSDA may have other artwork for sale in other galleries or websites.

Return Policy

There are no returns unless the artwork is damaged or if you feel the artwork was grossly misrepresented on the Site.  If the artwork arrives damaged please contact Buy Some Damn Art and you will either be issued a refund or, if the artist is willing, issue another, similar piece of the same value.  (Because all artwork for sale is one-of-a-kind these situations are handled on a case-by-case basis and there are no guarantees.)

Do you take submissions?

Yes. See details here.
